Having opened Pemberton Holmes Real Estate first office on Denman Island in 2015 (after having opened and managed the Coast Realty office there since 2001), and having lived on the island since 1991, Don has the knowledge, experience and contacts to provide both Buyers and Sellers with the expertise required to successfully fulfill their needs.

As Denman’s longest established Resident REALTOR® and Managing Broker, Don attributes his continuing success to a combination of both extensive local market knowledge and personal and professional qualities that inspire a sense of confidence and comfort in those he assists. He maintains a low key approach that centers on an honest work ethic, patience, and understanding to help clients achieve their goals whether buying or selling.
Don is an award winning REALTOR®, licensed and conducting business exclusively on the islands since 1994. His full Real Estate broker’s license also includes Licensed Property Management. He served three years as a director of the Comox Valley Airport Commission and a member of the Human Resources Committee. He is very committed to staying up to date with trends and changes in the industry by taking continuing education courses. He is a former director of Horse Council BC (Provincial), Director of Finance for Southlands Riding and Polo Club, director and vice president of a Vancouver investment firm with completion of the Canadian Securities Course and the Investment Dealers Partners and Directors examination.
Don has many passions in life and wears a number of hats in the community.
As a member of the Denman Island Fire Rescue, he is Fire Chief, as well as a Licensed First Responder, responding to emergencies on Denman Island 24/7.
Time away from the office may be spent touring on his Honda ST1300 motorcycle, or golfing. Don, his wife Chris and their animals have lived on 11 acres on Denman since 1991, enjoying the island’s quiet lifestyle and the rewards it offers to residents and visitors alike. Don believes the islands are special and unique and worth preserving.
